Firefly Bushfire Consultancy Pty Ltd specialises in bushfire planning advice that informs the design of development located on bushfire-prone land.
Firefly personnel work across the Hunter Region, Mid-North Coast, Hunter New England, Western NSW, and Metropolitan Sydney.
Firefly personnel are members of the Fire Protection Association Australia (FPA Australia) and the Planning Institute of Australia (PIA). These are the peak bodies for accredited bushfire consultants and town planners in NSW.
OUR COMMITMENT
Firefly is committed to using its education and experience to assist you to navigate the complex approval process. Firefly seeks to achieve this through the following performance-driven benchmarks:
Returning phone calls and emails within 24 hours,
A site inspection within one week of the initial phone call,
Formal Fee Proposal following 24 hours following site inspection, and
Written Bushfire Advice within one month of engagement.
OUR SERVICES
Firefly offers a range of bushfire-related services, not limited to, but primarily including the following:
Bushfire Assessments Reports to accompany Development Applications for Residential Buildings, Subdivisions, and Development that is defined as Special Fire Protection Purposes, such as child-care centres,
Bushfire Attack Level (BAL) Advice to accompany Complying Development Applications for Residential and Industrial Buildings, and
Advice to purchases seeking to purchase land or existing buildings located on land defined as Bushfire-Prone.
OUR PROCESS
Firefly Services typically take the following process:
A friendly chat over the phone about your project,
Free site inspection with our accredited bushfire consultant, if located within a one-hour drive of Newcastle, otherwise a small fee will apply,
Following the inspection, a Fee Proposal will be provided within 24 hours,
If the fee proposal is accepted, then Written Bushfire Advice will be provided within one month of engagement, if not sooner.
OUR EXPERIENCE
Firefly has over 15 years of experience working within the NSW Planning System. Our most recent bushfire projects in 2022 included:
1 into 2 Lot Subdivision and Two Detached Dwelling Houses at The Bower, Medowie within the Port Stephens Local Government Area,
Alterations/Additions to existing Detached Dwelling House at Warners Bay within the Lake Macquarie Local Government Area,
Alterations/Additions to existing Detached Dwelling House at Macquarie Hills within the Lake Macquarie Local Government Area, and
New Dwelling House and associated deck at Dudley within the Lake Macquarie Local Government Area.
